Energy Economics Review (EER) is pleased to invite applications and nominations for the position of Editor-in-Chief. Published by SPIDER Publishing, EER is dedicated to advancing high-quality research in energy economics, energy markets, renewable energy systems, environmental sustainability, energy finance, and policy analysis.

The journal seeks a visionary and experienced academic leader to provide strategic direction, uphold rigorous scholarly standards, and strengthen its international academic presence. The Editor-in-Chief will play a central role in shaping editorial policy, ensuring a transparent and robust peer review process, expanding global scholarly engagement, and positioning the journal as a respected platform for impactful research in energy and economic sustainability.

This position is voluntary and non-remunerated, with an initial three-year term, renewable based on performance and mutual agreement.

Role and Responsibilities

The Editor-in-Chief will:

  • Provide academic and strategic leadership

  • Oversee the peer review and editorial decision-making process

  • Appoint and coordinate Associate Editors and Editorial Board members

  • Ensure high scholarly and ethical standards aligned with international best practices

  • Promote the journal within global energy economics and sustainability research communities

  • Support indexing, abstracting, and visibility initiatives

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should:

  • Hold a doctoral degree in Economics, Energy Studies, Environmental Economics, Finance, or a closely related field

  • Demonstrate a strong and active publication record in reputable peer-reviewed journals

  • Have prior editorial or significant peer-review experience

  • Exhibit leadership capacity and commitment to research integrity

Senior and internationally recognized scholars are especially encouraged to apply.
